I want to help people eat better. What better means is up to you. Better depends on where you are now, where you want to be, and what's important to you in terms of how you get there. Better is moving forward. Better is progress.

To help others eat better, I'm learning to be better. I'm working on a degree in dietetics at The University of British Columbia so that I can become a registered dietitian. I'm learning the science of food and how our bodies use it for fuel. I'm learning about research, public health, professional management, and nutrition education. While I work on this degree, I will also be writing at Mel's Food Blog. This is a place where I can help people eat better now. Not by giving advice or counselling to the masses, but by encouraging people to become more involved with food and nutrition. I'd love for you to check it out and let me know what you think.

Whether it's work or school, in the kitchen or in the garden, when I'm writing or out for a jog, in all things, I am a planner. I see big picture. I see small details. I make them fit together. I'm also good at people . I see their talents, their potential - I make them fit together too; and I have a proven track record of doing this, both personally and professionally. If you have a team or project that could use someone like me, please feel free to drop me a line. I'd love to chat with you about opportunities, paid or volunteer.
