Mel Caylo

Greetings!

I'm Mel, and I live in Los Angeles, California. I have experience working in editorial, publicity, and marketing.

I'm a proud Filipino-American but sadly, I don't speak Tagalog. I've never been to the Philippines (I know!), but hope to go soon. I visit the different Filipino enclaves in the LA area whenever I get a chance.

I'm an entertainment junkie—movies, TV, Netflix, books, magazines, YouTube, music, podcasts, comics. I consume it all.

I love living in Los Angeles. I moved here in 2008 from New York City, where I was born and raised. Fun fact: I don't own a car—one CAN get around in LA without owning a car.

I am an omnivore and love to eat! I like to cook at home but I also like to eat out when I can. I enjoy almost every ethnic cuisine but most of all, I love American comfort food.

I like to "collect" people. I have a great family. I like spending time with friends and making new ones. I believe everyone is a good person until they show me otherwise. I enjoy making people happy and bringing good folks together.

I rarely discuss religion and politics in private so I practically never do it in an open forum. But ask me about pop culture, food, or sports, and I'm engaged!
