Missy Reams

Volunteer & Program Coordinator, Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Regional Programming, and Philanthropist in Des Moines, Iowa

I’m an upbeat and positive chic. My energy doesn’t stop. Can you keep up? I only see the positive. Who has time for the negative? My glass is way over ½ full!

The world is full of fun and fascinating people and things to do. You say you’re bored? Take another look… Anything can be fun; just change your perspective. Keep moving forward. Never sit still. And always find a reason to laugh.

I am intrigued by social media and the impact that it has on everything we do all day long. I am always mobile, and thus I love the pace that it all keeps changing. So many new gadgets and apps… so little time in my day. I can't wait to see where we are at tomorrow, or in 5 minutes!

My passions include philanthropy work for children and literacy. Children are our future, and they will change the world. Don’t ever under estimate a child. I often find them teaching me, when I am supposed to be teaching them. Children make it simple; it’s not as hard as we think it is.

I love the outdoors. I grew up on a farm. Where else can you see so much of the beauty that God has created for us? There is nothing like a ride in the country on my bike. So peaceful, so beautiful… I’ve ridden multiple century bicycle rides, and completed the 2010 Hy-Vee Triathlon. Not much scares me, and I love a new adventure.

I live with my wonderful husband, Kurt Falck, and my teenage son, Robbie Sheppard. My husband is a huge environmentalist and is obsessed with buying biciycles. In regards to Robbie, we can’t wait to see what impact Robbie will make on the world around him with his passion for making videos and producing his own rap music.
