Melissa Webb

I am currently a student attending the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Originally, I am from a town just south of Boston, right near the water. I spend my time drinking too much coffee.

I am pursuing a BBA in marketing and a BA in studio arts concentrated in digital media. I've always loved the idea of being an artist and the amazing things that can be created through dedication. Taking into consideration that art is a competitive creative field, having a little knowledge about how to market yourself couldn't hurt too much.

I believe that respect for not only art but humanities is lacking. The dedication to the development of skills and creation of products is remarkable, given the insecurity of the field. I could have easily pursued a career in some sort of science and grasped as a slightly more foreseeable future, but then I would not be doing what I love.

My intent is to actively and aggressively pursue a career in the art world, because if I do not believe I am the best, then no one will.
