Melissa is an interdisciplinary designer working across the fields of interaction design, UX strategy and visual design. Her expertise lies in connecting the dots between human needs and business objectives to create positive, meaningful experiences between people and the services they use. She has worked with clients big and small in a variety of industries including healthcare, e-commerce, energy management, mobile, non-profit, arts and education. Projects have ranged from design research, visioning and innovation strategy, brand experience and interface design for devices, software, web and cloud-based products. Recent clients include Google, Open English, Fujitsu, Kaiser Permanente, Microsoft, HTC, Hyundai, Pacific Gas & Electric, Global Lives and the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California.

She currently serves as Interaction Design Lead at Method and teaches interdisciplinary design courses that focus on creating dialog around social, cultural and environmental issues through design-thinking, critial design making and experimentation.

She also makes a mean pot of jam, likes to nerd out on typography and obsessively collect (and read) books.
