Melissa Blanco Borelli

London, United Kingdom

I am a Senior Lecturer in the Drama and Theatre Department at Royal Holloway, University of London. My research interests include popular culture and performance, Latin American dance, histories about women of colour, performative writing, digital performance and e-learning in the arts. I am originally from New York City. I love travel, fashion, food, playing the piano, all things Scandinavian and a good reformer pilates class any day. Music always brightens me up, especially curating playlists for me/my friends. I have two books coming out: The Oxford Handbook of Dance and the Popular Screen, and She Is Cuba: A Genealogy of the Mulata Body, both with Oxford University Press. I have written for The Feminist Wire and the Huffington Post. I also have been featured in a documentary about Josephine Baker as part of the Extraordinary Women series.
