Melissa has always been a bookworm, starting with an intense interest in ancient mythologies and a blooming obsession with J.R.R. Tolkien in middle school, to a fascination with life stories of famous personalities, authors and musicians in high school to a late discovery of comic books in her 20's.
Once the first quality comic book story was put in her hands, it was love at first read and she feeds that love of comics by searching endlessly for new, quality work to enjoy and share. Melissa spent endless hours as a kid watching horror films with her dad and that love for the dark side of fiction shows in her comic book reviews, which tend to focus on horror and sci-fi genres. She also loves to support independent and creator owned work.
As an adult Melissa's interests include comics, video games, film and tv, and developing social media connections. She's also a hairstylist ( her passion for over 10 years) and salon manager, running multiple personal social sites in addition to multiple business sites. She believes in speaking openly about social issues, ideas and opinions and loves to stimulate straight forward discussions with readers.
Melissa currently lives in NY with her husband and son.
