Melodeon - music of 19th Century America
Melodeon's first concert this season is Sunday, November 11th at 4 p.m., Church of the Epiphany, 74th and York, NYC. Artis Wodehouse is joined by Lori McCann, soprano and George Spitzer in songs by Griffes and Amy Beach. Artis Wodehouse will perform on her 1889 Mason & Hamlin antique Liszt organ.
Artis Wodehouse founded Melodeon in 2010 to perform rarely-performed music from 19th Century America using her collection of unique American reed organs and early pianos. Artists who have joined the group are George Spitzer, baritone, Marti Newland, soprano, Lori McCann, soprano and Stephen Oosting, tenor.
