I am a storyteller. I love connecting people. It began as a love of connecting the community through television reporting and feature writing. But now my passion is in connecting the community through social media. There's never been a more exciting time, in my opinion, to work in broadcasting or marketing. Information and opportunities are at our fingertips every second. The ability to see the world more clearly, deeply and different is here. Exploring the connections that can be made locally and globally, and then facilitating those connections drives me.

I've been working in TV news since 1998, as a reporter, anchor, weather anchor, and, since 2005, a traffic reporter in Tampa Bay.

I began tweeting traffic reports in 2009 as @TampaBayTraffic to better serve the Tampa Bay community, without the limitations of TV news time constraints. See my TEDx talk about using Twitter to connect a community below.

I later turned my attention to growing my personal brand, @MeredythTV, to harness the power of social media as a Social Journalist, delivering instant information a multi-media-savvy culture wants, with the personality and experience of long-time journalist and life-time smarty-pants.

I have big ideas. Let's chat.
