Merlyn Knapp

Certified public accountant Merlyn Knapp currently works as a private financial consultant to hospitals, physician group practices, and various other health care organizations. Serving as an Interim Chief Financial Officer, Merlyn Knapp provides clients with feasibility studies that assess the factors for business acquisition and expansion. Through these studies, Merlyn Knapp then designs a revenue cycle strategy that organizes cash flow in relation to operating expenses, equipment purchasing, building construction and renovation, and leasing. Utilizing this methodology, Merlyn Knapp can successfully increase earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization to a range between $600,000 and $2 million. In addition, he can accelerate cash accumulation through the negotiation of managed care payment schedules, reduce expenses through operating and capital budgets, and improve overall staff and management performance through a comprehensive training regimen. Since starting this work in 2003, Merlyn Knapp has successfully negotiated more than $100 million in financing arrangements, $5 million in reimbursement deals, and more than $1.7 million in revenue. Merlyn Knapp earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Rockhurst College (currently Rockhurst University). A member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Merlyn Knapp also holds Fellow status through the American College of Healthcare Executives. Committed to his local community of Celina, Texas, Merlyn Knapp often provides financial contributions to area school and church organizations, as well as the Boy Scouts of America. In his down time, he enjoys playing golf.
