New Media Artist, Project Manager, and Art Director in Cairo Governorate, Egypt
Mohamed Hossam is a New Media Artist , Designer , Creative Coder , Art Director and Educator based in Cairo . He is The Founder and Art Director at Cairo Media Lab ,The Founder , Project Manager and Educator at Creative Coding Cairo , and the Former Interaction Design mentor at Fab lab Egypt . He is a curatorial team member at Cairotronica Festival for electronic and media Art , Open Lab & Workshop Programs Manager . He is an expert in the Field of Art and Creative Digital Technologies and part of the creative and making community in Egypt with diverse range of experiences across the creative industry in art, design, culture and technology.
He got a Bachelor Degree in Art Education & Cultural Art Major at Helwan University and Studied Creative Coding and Interactive Media at VVVV Academy in Berlin .He also studied a course in Digital Media from Goldsmith University in London online and Studied Art Management Course at Lüneburg University in Germany and Entrepreneurship and Innovation Diploma at The Euro-Mediterranean University ( EMUNI ) in Slovenia and Sienna University in Italy
Mohamed presented Creative Coding Cairo in National and International Events and Festivals. He also Joined and organizing various national and international festivals, conferences and events as he used to be the director for the Art Shower Festival, a volunteer at the Art &Emerging Technologies exhibition at Siggraph Asia Conference in Singapore and a Co-Founder for Designopia Art & Design Space.
His work and practice is concerned with the integration of different Creative digital technologies in an interactive kinetic media and Light installations .His artworks use sound , light and interaction . Space is his medium to create visual narratives , to share stories and to let others interact with it creating hybrid spaces indoor and in public spaces .
He was a former International Advisor at Ars Electronica STARTS Prize Award ، joined as a contributing Artist in a Phd Research project about “ Digital Museums” in Wales -UK, The Award Winning Artist at The Egyptian Academy of Fine Arts in Rome ،Italy. Joined as a speaker at Ars Electronica Festival in Austria , and The Node Forum in Germany as well as other Fairs like the Maker Faire Cairo . Also he joined and organized various National and International Exhibitions, Festivals and Events . He joined Exhibitions in places like at National Museum of Wales, Cairotronica Symposium, Goethe Institute & Opera House.
