I am an associate professor of marketing at Otterbein University in Westerville, OH. I teach, research, and consult.
I received the Cengage Pride/Ferrell Innovations in Teaching award for my inclusion of the Pecha Kucka presentation format. I have been a finalist for my innovative teaching for analytics, and critical thinking skills.
My teaching style incorporates active learning including simulations, clients, and student-centered projects. This approach fits well with corporate training, which I have conducted. I work with the National Association of College Stores as part of its Leadership Institute.
My research has appeared in top journals including the Journal of Marketing Theory & Practice, the Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, and the International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management. I focus on marketing and technology including:
- individuals’ motivations to use technology and social media at work, and in a retail context;
- consumers’ likelihood to attend sporting events;
- retailers allocation of resources to remain competitive.
My consulting includes working with:
- a fundraising company to develop new surveys and to improve current surveys;
- a state agency to design a data collection tool and to analyze the subsequently collected data;
- a real estate firm to suggest new markets, and potential sponsors.
I also perform mini-workshops related to marketing, research, and analytics.
I am available for consulting assignments, addressing groups, and conducting corporate training.
