Michael David [Ash] Sharbaugh is a musician, poet, and lyricist who hails from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and now resides in Atlanta, Georgia. He composes pop, space rock, ambient, and experimental musics. He was co-Producer and co-Host of the online contemplative radio broadcast series, the Blue Sky Highway, the Host and Creator of the Michael Ash Sharbaugh Showcase, and is the Host and Producer of The Broken Doorway and The Spoken Doorway online radio shows on IndieMediaWeekly.com.
Michael's formal education consists of an undergraduate Magna Cum Laude Applied Linguistics degree and a graduate Summa Cum Laude Anthropology degree, for which he wrote the thesis, "Negotiations for 'Spooky' Spaces during the Halloween Season: Christian Trunk or Treats in the 'Bible Belt' South." He tutors non-English speakers, and is also a bartender.
Michael's main passion is for music; his secondary passion is philology, for he is a lover of words, their origins, and ancient and classical languages. He has formally studied Classical Latin, Ancient Greek, Olde English, and Sanskrit, to name a few, and is now approaching a doctorate in English Literature and Composition.
