Michaela Suliman

Southborough, MA

Michaela Suliman serves as Manager of Special Events with Southborough, Massachusetts-based New England Center for Children, Inc. (NECC). She raises money on behalf of an educational and research institution that provides instruction in academics and life skills to children with autism. Over the past five years, Michaela Suliman has guided the planning and coordination of NECC events such as the November, 2012, “A Night of Music” held at the Boston Public Library (www.neccnom.org). Her current position builds on experience with NECC as Development Coordinator.

From 2005 to 2007, Ms. Suliman served as Calvin Klein Sourcing Associate with Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation in New York City. Responsible for coordinating pre-production and production of the department’s men’s sportswear line, she communicated closely with international offices, vendors, and manufacturing facilities. Michaela Suliman ensured that production occurred on time, within budget, and with appropriate quality-control measures in place. Taking part in weekly department meetings, she presented relevant data and vendor performance reviews in addition to assisting in seasonal costing activities.

Michaela Suliman obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English at Georgetown University in Washington D.C., and also minored in Government. During her undergraduate studies, she undertook a summer internship with Sony BMG Music Entertainment. Ms. Suliman’s New York-based position involved office functions with Columbia Records’ release planning department. She helped catalogue information and drafted reports that created awareness about new artists in the media and public. Committed to continuing education, Michaela Suliman currently pursues Professional Fundraising certification at Boston University.
