Michael Chock

Over the course of his 26-year career in the airline industry, Michael Chock has advanced from serving as a flight attendant with Northwest Airlines to a position as Director of Alliances for Delta Airlines. A leader throughout his career, Mr. Chock has a history of success in management, negotiations, and collaboration. Michael Chock received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of San Francisco and attained his Master of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota. He started his career at Northwest Airlines (NWA) by serving as Lead Flight Attendant on international flights, managing crews of up to 16 other attendants. After four years, he earned a promotion to Assistant Base Manager. In this position, Mr. Chock conducted performance reviews for flight attendants, advising and motivating employees on both a one-on-one and group basis. He also interpreted flight attendant contracts and was responsible for managing attendants' requests for leave. When he was promoted to Flight Service Manager at NWA, Michael Chock continued in a managerial role, expanding his skills to include the management of in-flight sales systems. As a supervisor, Mr. Chock directed the probationary flight attendant program, where he encouraged, assisted, and provided additional training for new employees. Michael Chock next served as Alliance Operations Manager, with the responsibility of negotiating sales, branding, and other marketing agreements between Northwest and its global partners. Mr. Chock coordinated with alliance partners to enhance revenue, improve strategic relationships, and improve cross-functional knowledge of airline operations. Delta Airlines brought Michael Chock aboard in 2006 as a General Manager of SkyTeam and Alliance Development. As a SkyTeam Manager, he coordinated internal and external operations, ensuring the integrity of partnerships across all aspects of the participating airlines. He also managed the integration of information technology systems, advertising, and marketing initiatives between Delta and its partners. In 2009, Michael Chock was promoted to Director of Alliances. In this capacity, he continues to take responsibility for negotiations, coordination, and collaboration between alliance partners.
