Michael Davidson

When all of the conceits and pretenses have been

stripped away from my life, what do I want to be my

defining attribute? What is the essential "me-ness"

of Me?

After all, I am many things.

I am a developer; an engineer; a problem solver.

A public speaker; a private conspirator. I like to read;

to argue; to understand. I need love; and to be loved.

I am a prolific scorer; and yet often lose. An unquench-

able imbiber. A cynic; an unbeliever that has lost his

white gold ring.

I am all of these things.

And yet none of those things matter - not truly. When

all is stripped away there will still be that one essential

thing. That one word that I continually strive, and

often fail, to live up to. My failures will not daunt me,

the few successes make it all the more precious.

And the smiles, always the smiles.

I am a Dad.
