My grandmother still always tells me “Aproveita quando poderes” which is Portuguese for “Try new things while you have the chance.” And that’s what I have been doing my whole life...especially while traveling. Travel has always a passion of mine and it was a high school class trip to Spain and Morocco that made me want to make a career out of it. While studying at Johnson & Wales University, I took advantage of every study abroad opportunity. I spent a summer studying eco-tourism in Guatemala (now my favorite destination) and lived in Switzerland for a semester, studying international hospitality and marketing (and took advantage of traveling to every nearby country). After graduation, I joined Thomson Safaris, an African safari tour operator. I am currently Director of Tour Delivery at Collette, offering tours to all 7 continents. So far I have pinned Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Italy, Switzerland, France, Germany, Austria, Poland, The Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, UK, Greece, Israel Tanzania, Mozambique, South Africa, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Kenya, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, United Arab Emirates, Oman, India, Vietnam, Japan and many of the United States onto my map. I am always looking for my next travel opportunity, to get lost in a new, unfamiliar place, find a hidden gem, and “aproveitar.”
