I am a serial entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist who is deeply in love with technology. An optimist by nature, I am also a transcendentalist who deeply cares about humanity and is firmly committed to using technology as a catalyst for better education, wealth creation and better healthcare regardless of socioeconomic status, race or origin.
I am the author of three patents, one issued and two pending, for the use of ground-breaking search and retrieval technology and taxonomic classification. A programmer by trade, my expertise is in natural language processing and artificial intelligence.
I was raised and educated in the United States, Michael is fluent in four languages including English, Spanish, Italian and Chinese (Cantonese). I am also a frequent speaker at international conferences and podcasts on topics ranging from emerging technology to macroeconomics.
But I am perhaps most famous for video that I took as a passenger on flight Alitalia AZ-63 when it crash landed in Rome, Italy on September 30, 2013.
In addition to running Oiga Technologies, through my investment company GITP Ventures, I have invested in and am a board member of several emerging technology startups including NPCx, Ziotag, Gaming Society, Vamos Cowboys andIPSUM Clinical. I am also the co-founder of severalprivate non-profit foundations, most notably theMast Cell Research Institute.
Finally, I donate my time as a mentor at Fusion Pointe and am dedicated to growing the Southwest Florida startup ecosystem.
