Michele Mandell

I live in San Francisco, where I'm a brand builder and consultant in the hospitality industry. I’ve executed many successful restaurant launches and have handled PR for world-renowned properties, events and chefs, including Michael Mina, Daniel Patterson, Four Seasons Hotels and the Masters of F&W (now Pebble Beach F&W).

Most recently, I had a full-time gig at SeatMe, a startup with a new restaurant reservation system. I helped build a customer base and managed PR, and Yelp acquired the company in July '13.

There is nothing that I won't eat. Though, I believe humanity could survive without raisins. I'm head-over-heels in love with eggs, any style. I have great chemistry with spicy things. I have a huge crush on pink bubbly, and I am very attracted to tequila. I'm in a booty-call situation with Za Pizza, but I want to marry stinky cheese.

I'm a Cal grad, as corroborated by this New York Times article. And I completed the professional culinary program at Tante Marie's Cooking School.

Writing is my number one passion. I got my first AP Stylebook in the '80s as a staff writer for my high school newspaper. I've been published in numerous places, but I'm most proud that I had a byline in The Onion. I quote Seinfeld and Office Space a lot.

I can raise my left eyebrow independently of the right. I have a 15-lb. cat, Trooper, who was adopted as a stray kitten by Rick, a compassionate U.S. Marine who bravely gave his life in Afghanistan. But I am not a cat lady. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
