Mike Dowling

Based in Los Angeles, Ca. Mike is a U.S. Marine K9 handler turned producer, actor, and author. Appearing in commercials and PSA's supporting veterans issues he also starred in Battle Scars, an award winning short film about Post Traumatic Stress. As a producer he's worked on various video campaigns connecting veterans with services and bringing awareness to veterans issues.

A consummate advocate for veterans he is cofounder of the 501c3 nonprofit Veterans in Film & Television and works with several organizations supporting vets. His work in the veteran community has awarded him recognition from LA Mayor Eric Garcetti, was named Veteran of the year (2013) in California's 46th district, and named one of the 100 most influential veterans in the U.S. (2014) by HillVets.

Mike is author of the critically acclaimed book "Sergeant Rex: The Unbreakable Bond Between A Marine and His Military Working Dog" published by Atria books of Simon and Schuster and has given numerous talks across the country about the value of military working dog teams.
