Mikel was born and raised in Morelia Michoacan, Mexico until the age of 8. He continued his childhood in San Francisco California. In 2001, he moved once again to the gritty streets of East Oakland. While attending high school he participated in a small business competition which opened to him the doors to the world. Despite his love for technology and computers, he went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in Spanish from the University of California, Berkeley. His last job was as a Search Editor for Yahoo! He currently is working for a startup in the Sillicon Valley.
