Mike Rupert

I'm currently Communications Director for the DC Office of the Chief Technology Officer. I previously was Associate Director with Phase One CG and worked with several federal agencies on open government, strategic communications and new media projects. I also created thisshouldbeillegal.com which was featured in New York Times and co-created the District of Columbia's first Curbside Cookoff.

In my spare time, I lead Jimmy Buffet's Save the Manatee Club's Twitter community, volunteer communications skills to non-profits focusing on fire safety, and founded and moderated #localgovchat. I am a Georgetown grad who loves my three wild and wonderful children, my wife, the Detroit Pistons and Tigers, and am basically just some dude.
