Mimi Chan is the Co-Founder and CEO of Thread and That’s Foxy, two digital platforms launched in 2011 to share, inspire, and shop the latest fashion trends in accessories. Thread Media Inc. was acquired in 2013 by CrowdJewel Inc. Prior to Thread Media Inc. in 2008, Mimi launched one of today’s fastest growing nonprofits, Pencils of Promise, as the Founding COO alongside Founder, Adam Braun. Mimi oversaw all fundraising initiatives, partnerships, donor relations and created The PoP Shop and leadership council programs around the country.
Mimi’s previous professional background includes real estate development and investment after moving to New York in 2004 and Hope Initiative, Inc. in 2001-2003, where she created marketing and fundraising initiatives that propelled the blossoming nonprofit to being one of the most active nonprofits in the young Asian community in Houston, Texas.
Mimi holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Finance degree, with a minor in Asian Studies, from The University of Houston.
TODAY, (if she's not traveling) Mimi can be found in San Francisco with her husband; ready to begin either her next company or have a baby (both for sure).
