Miodrag Velickovic

Miodrag Velickovic is a highly respected neurologist currently practicing in New York. In addition to treating patients as an Attending Physician at Northern Westchester Hospital, Miodrag Velickovic serves as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology in the Department of Neurology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. A native of Serbia, Miodrag Velickovic attended high school in the city of Nis, and then enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Nis. After earning his medical degree in 1989, he completed an internship at University Hospital, also in Nis. Miodrag Velickovic conducted research on the biochemistry of strokes with the hospital’s Department of Neurology from 1990 to 1992. Upon completion of his research, he continued his medical training through a residency in the same department. Miodrag Velickovic relocated to the United States in 1995, where he pursued additional training at Nassau University Medical Center and New York University (NYU) Langone Medical Center. Following his postgraduate studies, he earned a Fellowship in Movement Disorders at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. During this program, Miodrag Velickovic assumed additional responsibilities as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology at Mount Sinai Medical Center, a position he currently maintains. Throughout his career, Miodrag Velickovic has offered his professional insight to patient support groups in the New York City area. He has presented information on Parkinson’s disease, Wilson’s disease, and spasmodic dysphonia to groups at institutions such as Beth Israel Medical Center, Roosevelt Hospital, Northern Westchester Hospital, and Weill Cornell Medical College. Miodrag Velickovic holds a medical license from the State of New York, and earned his board certification in neurology in 2000. He participates in several professional organizations, including The Movement Disorder Society, the American Academy of Neurology, and the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation.
