My Twitter bio reads "I yam what I yam, just zis guy, you know? A programmer. Fan of anything UNIX (linux Mac OSX, iPhone), comics, Orthodox Christian"
I yam what I yam: from Popeye. Love comic strips.
Just zis guy: from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Very much a live-and-let-live libertarian.
BIG (pun intended) Star Trek fan. Favoring DS9/ENT over TOS/VOY.
And I'm a nerd. I use the definition in a Nerd Venn diagram that's been floating around. The upshot is that nerds are socially inept geeks. In other words, if you see me in real life, say hi first. I probably won't.
As for computers, while I like Linux for server-type tasks, for desktop or mobile use, I like Apple products. The fact that I don't have to pay for a third-party driver or hack the kernel to be able to play music is Important to me. And even though I don't consider myself an Apple "Fanboy", the fact that I either own or am responsible for 1 Mac desktops, 3 Mac laptops, 6 iPhones, 2 iPads, and 2 iPods (and, by contrast, 1 virtual Windows machine a a few virtual Linux workstations (not counting the other Linux-based devices)) may be indicative of pomomania.
Married. One daughter.
