What a life I've led! I am truly a lucky woman.

My childhood and life reflect the lives of the characters in my books. I grew up in a household where both of my parents (and the maid!) struggled with alcohol addiction. In a time when divorce was a scourge on the family, my parents split up.

Married more times than most, by the time I was 35, I had two dead husbands and divorced three times. The mother of four children, I have lived more in one lifetime than most people would in five lives and learned to laugh about it.

A life some say of tragedy and pain has bred a writer who is full of wit and compassion even if I do say so myself..My characters grow and learn, as I reflect my life’s perspective and concerns into them.
