David Molina

David grew up on migrant farm camps in Hood River, Ore. and Mount Vernon, Wa., working alongside his Mexican parents in the fields. A former high school drop-out he barely finished a year later, entered community college and after his associates proudly enlisted in the Army Reserve. Private First Class Molina was assigned to the Portland-based, 364th Civil Affairs Brigade (Airborne) and what started as a brief 4-year enlistment period quickly went out the window on 9/11 while a student at Oregon State University, commissioning Infantry and spending over a decade in uniform serving twice on active-duty in a unique war-time mission in support of the Families of the Fallen mission. In early 2014, Captain Molina was honorably discharged receiving numerous awards and commendations including, the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Lt. Rowan Award. But when David couldn't use his New GI Bill that summer to attend code school to be a Full-Stack Web Developer, he set aside working on his new BilingualHire app and turned his eyes to building and expanding Operation Code, a non-profit dedicated to helping military, veterans and military families learn to code, join software companies and change the world with their newfound technical skills.
