I like to write vivid, provocative stories that linger in readers' minds. My passion is to tell tales about people; to bring out the extraordinary in the seemingly ordinary.

Before coming to CNN in 2009, I was a reporter and editor at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for 19 years.

When I am not committing journalism, I enjoy being lazy on Sunday mornings, eating biriyani, digging in the dirt and getting on an airplane to jet off to faraway places.
