Originally from a small town between Milan and the Alps. Moved to Dublin (in its golden pre-Euro era) to study English and German, then moved back to Italy for a few years before leaving again in 2006 to land in Berlin. I still visit the home country (especially the beautiful old town of Alghero, in Sardinia, my adoptive second homeland) often enough to stock up on sunny weather, good food and awful politics to last me for the rest of the year.
I work as a freelance translator, translating from English and German into Italian, mostly for translation agencies. See my CV on LinkedIn for more details on my background and experience. I also translate content into Italian for a Berlin-based online language learning company you may have heard of, Babbel – including the more recent articles on language published on the entertaining Babbel Blog.
Other samples available online are a few translations volunteered in my spare time for Cafébabel and a small (and hopefully growing) collection of articles translated from German and English on Medium.
On Twitter I like to share links, articles, blogs about Berlin, Italy, language, the joys and pains of dealing with life as an expat/immigrant in a multicultural city, political and social issues and the occasional silly stuff. For more lighthearted entertainment I also collect quotes and comments on Tumblr and some photos on Instagram, including many more of Alghero and my other photographic obsession, the former airport turned park of Tempelhofer Feld in Berlin Neukölln.
