Hello, my name is Madeleine Perry and I am an aspiring teacher. I am a current student at Chapman University majoring in Integrated Education Studies with a minor in Language and Literacy and Sociology, working toward earning an MA in Curriculum and Instruction. My previous work experience includes being a site clerk, receptionist, and a nanny. I have had the opportunity to work closely with the homeless population in Orange, CA, through my position in the Rotaract Club. In addition, I’ve been volunteering for several years with the Family Autism Network, working with both children and adults with autism. By assisting these individuals, I have learned patience and attentiveness, which are both valuable assets in the classroom.

I believe it is my responsibility as a teacher to challenge every student at or above their grade level, by setting clear goals and high expectations, for excellent academic achievement. Emphasizing a safe, caring, and engaging school culture is important to me. I believe committed teachers and involved parents help students attain their greatest potential in the classroom. One of my highest priorities is creating a strong partnership with students and their family members to help each child attain academic and social success.
