I teach at Bath Spa University, Bath.  UK.  I have been teaching since 2003.  Prior to that I worked for the BBC.  I started in Local Radio (BBC Radio Merseyside) then moved to BBC Birmingham and switched to TV (Midlands Today).  After a couple of years in the newsroom I moved to floor/stage management working on sport, daytime and events.

I left the BBC in the 90's and set up a design company.  I continued media making with 2 documentaries and some smaller projects.  In the late 90's I returned to BBC as a freelance Technical Director working for News 24, BBC World, HTV, BBC3 and BBC online.  I also launched a DVD extreme sports DVD called "Amenomania".  The final issue was made available online as a free downloadable multimedia film.

I went on to study MA in interactive multimedia at Bath Spa University and in a round about way, that lead to me teaching.  First at Thames Valley University and then at Bath Spa where I work now. My academic profile is here.

I teach digital production and post production as well as scriptwriting and short film making.

My research interests include web 2.0 technologies, transmedia production and digital storytelling.  I have had one case study published on the use of wikis for Media Production students by the Art, Design and Media Subject Centre.

My leisure activities include cinema, photography, camera repair, half marathons, baking and music.

I am a trustee of the Bath Film festival.
