Mel Regnell

I am a technical training manager - 20 years plus and growing - currently working at Hortonworks! I design innovative programs and materials using both traditional and non-traditional tools and technologies.

My passion is to deliver what customers want, when they want it, how they want it, for the least cost
and effort possible. I am a problem solver of the first-order and I love a challenge. And I have yet
to meet a piece of software I couldn't wrestle to the mat! My current interest is in the evolution of training delivery into the curating of materials...training as the act of compiling and guiding
rather than presenting and explaining.

I am also a writer. I write essays, articles, memoirs and short stories. My
self-published works can be found on blurb under "old broad".
My current projects are 1) helping folks preserve their family histories
through anecdotes - written and recorded - and the digitization of old
photos and documents and 2) republishing antique public domain
children's books for my granddaughter.

I live by the sea in Maine with my Sea Captain, our Lab and five
intensely independent cats. Life moves more slowly here,
but the world is still there...just a speedy Internet connection
away.
