Melissa Sanders

Postgraduate Student in Willis, Virginia

A current graduate student in library and information science at Old Dominion University who will be seeking opportunities to collaborate with, lead, and motivate library staff to serve patrons in a productive and efficient manner and with focus on user experience. Passionate about advocating for safe library spaces for all.

I am currently living in Willis, Virginia with my spouse and 3 cats on a few acres of Appalachian forest. I received my B.S. in Sociology: Anthropology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, graduating with honors (summa cum laude). I love to mentor those looking to start a mindfulness meditation practice. I pull from my own practice of 20+ years, MBSR training, professional and volunteer work with nonprofits and civil organizations, including the Center for Mindful Living (Chattanooga, TN).

I enjoy learning about plants, herbalism, film, and safe evidence-based meditation modalities. In my spare time, I read, create, watch movies (mostly horror, but not only), and overly organize.
