My kids are my life! I’ve been a mother since I was 32 and have been spending as much time as possible with my wonderful son and daughter since I held them in my arms.

The day my oldest daughter, Clara, moved out of the house two years ago it felt like a part of my heart moved out with her.

Now my youngest son, Bobby, has graduated high school and is in progress moving into the dorms at college.

I am beginning to feel what an “empty nest” feels like. I have been lucky, I was able to spend so much time with my kids before they moved out.

It has become a challenge finding things to do with all my extra time. I am lucky to have such a loving husband to go through it together.

Even though it’s tough coming home to an empty house without my two kiddo’s, I love hearing about all the new adventures and new people my kids meet, while creating a life for themselves. It is also very reassuring knowing they will always come home for some good home cooking.

Being a 53 year old woman watching my children become adults is incredible… it is besides the occasional hot flash in the middle a packed graduation ceremony.
