Richard Nash is a coach, strategist and serial entrepreneur at the intersections of culture and business. A graduate of Harvard College, he spent a decade as a theater director in New York City, before taking over a struggling independent book publisher, Soft Skull Press, leading it to a string of successes—award-winners domestically and internationally, best-sellers from the Boston Globe to the Singapore Straits-Times, books that entered the popular discourse, and have become classics. For this work he was awarded the Association of American Publishers' Award for Creativity in Independent Publishing. After leaving Soft Skull to explore the transformations in the business of culture, he founded and took leadership positions in several innovative start-ups: Small Demons, Byliner, and Red Lemonade. The Utne Reader named him one of "Fifty Visionaries Changing Your World" and the Frankfurt Book Fair picked him as one of the Five Most Inspiring People in Digital Publishing. He has spoken around the world—Seoul, Helsinki, Zagreb, San Francisco, Sydney, Milan, Stockholm, Yale—on the changing face of business, media, work and culture. He now works with individuals and businesses on finding the grounding, centering, animating vision that can guide them amidst the tectonic shifts in society and business.
