Since 2012, Dr. Navdeep Samra has served as assistant professor of surgery at LSU Health Services Center, located in Shreveport, Louisiana. In March 2013, Navdeep Samra, MD, was inducted as a faculty member in the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society, which recognizes physicians’ dedication to their profession.

Born in New Delhi, India, Dr. Navdeep Samra attended high school at Sri Dasmesh Academy in Punjab, India, where he received valedictorian honors. He earned his bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery as well as salutatorian honors from Christian Medical College in Ludhiana, India. He went on to earn his master’s degree in surgery from Government Medical College in Patiala, India. Dr. Samra moved to the United States in 2004 and completed his internship and residency in general surgery at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. He also served as chief resident in general surgery at the same location. In 2012, he completed training as a surgical critical-care fellow at Washington University/Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
