Nolan Hicks

I work for the San Antonio Express-News in the main newsroom, covering things involving maps, data, politics and demographics (think redistricting, campaign finance and the census).

I interned in the Houston Chronicle/Express-News Austin bureau, covering the Legislative session and Texas politics. Before that, I worked for The Daily Texan (UT's newspaper) as a state/politics reporter (twice), cops reporter, copy editor, wire editor, page designer and led the redesign of the Texan's website. And in-between all that, I majored in government (political science) and minored in American History.

I was born in New Orleans, but grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. There, I discovered my penchant for rooting for usually awful teams (49ers, Giants, A's), a love of summers where the temperature doesn't exceed 80 degrees, and an abiding hatred of Al Davis.
