I run the Build It and Blueprints departments, as well as Ask the Doctor and a bunch of hardware beats, including cases, cooling, video cards, and storage devices. I also host the Maximum PC No BS Podcast, which you might enjoy if you like computer hardware and arguments about Star Wars canon. Sometimes I review stuff for PC Gamer, too.
In my free time I read science fiction, drink ginger beer, write weapons-grade puns, and care too much about things. I also enjoy riding my bicycle, running, wearing clothing, and hooting from the rooftops. I want to hear what you're into.
I'm the oldest of seven troublemakers out of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, and I got my BSJ from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. I live in Palo Alto with my wife, who is a scientist.
