I am a scientist by training and an artist in perceiving. For me, science and art are just two of the many different ways that we seek and celebrate truth--in this universe and elsewhere. I love exploring new software programs for data analysis as much as I love weaving words into poetry, or diving 100 feet underwater to discover fish I've never seen before. In a previous lifetime on another continent, I was a freelance travel writer and photographer, wedding singer, Sunday school teacher; in the marriage of art and science, I continue to feed my passion for creative communication and learning.
