Neil Hafer

A graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, Neil Hafer earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 1992. Shortly after his graduation, he accepted a position in the Los Angeles offices of Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Demonstrating an aptitude for leadership, Neil Hafer rose quickly within the company's East San Fernando Valley/San Gabriel group and currently serves as the Vice President and General Manager of the Utah/Southern Idaho division. In his various roles, Mr. Hafer has overseen the organization's day-to-day operations, as well as the long-term fleet management and profit and loss calculations. In recognition of his excellent work as Regional Vice President of the East Tennessee region, Neil Hafer was sent to San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 2006, where he led the territory's fledgling outpost of Enterprise Rent-A-Car. As Vice President and General Manager, he designed and executed a strategy to launch the business, building it from the ground up. Neil Hafer negotiated all leases for new locations throughout Puerto Rico and expanded the company's fleet in the area to more than 1,700 units. He also oversaw hiring and management decisions and shaped a strong team that led to the Puerto Rico division being named Enterprise Rent-A-Car's number five-ranked operating group overall. In 2009, Neil Hafer earned a promotion as Vice President and General Manager of the Utah/Southern Idaho group and moved to Salt Lake City, where he continues to lead today. Neil Hafer supports several local organizations in the city including United Way of Salt Lake, which awarded Enterprise Rent-A-Car with Corporate Partner of the Year for its extensive community volunteering work. Married for more than 15 years, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their twin daughters, running, hiking, skiing, and playing tennis. An avid reader, Mr. Hafer has particularly enjoyed The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Lost Symbol, and Angels and Demons.
