Nell Alk

My name is Nell Alk & I'm an arts & entertainment writer & reporter based in New York City.

I previously worked in marketing, events & promotions at major magazine titles, but since January 2010 I've been freelancing as a journalist, copywriter & social media strategist.

I've contributed to several outlets, including New York Magazine, NBC NiteSide, Paper Magazine, Manhattan Magazine & ZINK. I currently write/report for the Wall Street Journal, Interview Magazine, Cllctv, Société Perrier, The Responsibility Project, Blackbook & the New York Daily News.

Since February 2011 I have been copywriting for Conde Nast Studio. I've crafted copy for companies across industries, ranging from auto to beauty, retail to tech. I've also been a brand ambassador for Nestea & Fig Newtons promotional campaigns.

From March to July 2011 I worked with a boutique social media agency, The Co3. My key accounts were BLK DNM & VOSS Water.

Background: I graduated from Union College in 2006 with a BA in English & art history. Following this, I participated in the Columbia Publishing Course. I then began working at Cookie. After this, I joined Allure. Most recently I worked for Reader's Digest. In November 2010 I was selected to compete as a top ten finalist in Sunglass Hut's Full Time Fabulous national fashion blogger competition.
