Nicole Root Woodbury, CT

After earning her associate’s degree in business management, Nicole Root pursued dual bachelor’s degrees in entrepreneurship and marketing at Western Connecticut State University, not far from her home in Woodbury, CT. As part of her studies, she served as an intern with the Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association, where she updated the company’s website and increased its social media presence. This work was also an important element in a marketing competition Nicole Root was involved in through the university, and by the time she graduated, her team had won first prize.

While she was an undergraduate at WCSU, Ms. Root worked as a customer service representative for cable television provider Comcast and as a marketing coordinator and assistant manager at Plaza Executive Suites. She continued her work at Plaza Executive Suites after she graduated, and in addition to her work there, she accepted a sales director position with R&R Corrugated, a manufacturer of corrugated boxes and other items based in Bristol, CT. In mid-2013, she left Plaza Executive Suites to devote herself full-time to her position at R&R Corrugated.

Outside the office, Nicole Root freelances in digital marketing, taking on projects that include creating newsletters, executing social media integration, assisting with website creation, and implementing search engine optimization. She enthusiastically supports the work of the World Wildlife Fund and the Save the Rainforest Foundation, and she has served as a volunteer at the Noah’s Ark Animal Hospital in Danbury. Ms. Root remains fit by hiking and playing tennis at various locations in and around Woodbury, CT, and by spending as much of her summers swimming as she possibly can.
