Nizam Shajani

Over the course of his career, Nizam Shajani has developed high-level expertise in tax services, corporate audits, compliance, and consulting. Currently a partner at Shajani LLP, he leverages his experience in guiding clients toward a strong financial position while considering the holistic organization. Also in charge of compliance activity for the firm, Nizam Shajani applies extensive audit experience to ensure that clients and colleagues complete all relevant requirements and due diligence.

Nizam Shajani began his education at Mount Royal University, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance. He held his first professional position at major financial firm Deloitte – winning the single coveted position during the course of a competition throughout the University. At Deloitte, Shajani facilitated the audit process for numerous large public companies. During this time, he also began a career-long dedication to volunteerism and philanthropy as a member of Deloitte Community Service.

Nizam Shajani then went on to further his education. His next educational step brought him to the Chartered Accountants School of Business, where he completed modules in accounting and assurance. Professionally, he transitioned into a higher level accounting role with midsize firm Mackay LLP, where he focused on audit management and tax return services. In 2008, he brought this experience to his current firm.

Committed to supporting colleagues and the financial community at large, Nizam Shajani maintains active membership in the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta. He also offers to serve as an online facilitator with the Chartered Accountants School of Business. To further his own knowledge base, Nizam Shajani recently completed a Master of Business Administration program at the University of Liverpool, where he focused on Accounting and Finance and combined with his Chartered Accountancy designation, has gained the acumen to provide a preeminent corporate consultancy service to his clients.
