Nick Lo Vetere

Chicago

As a digital marketing manager for five urban select-service hotels in downtown Chicago it is my responsibility to to boost top-line revenues by successful implementation and execution of digital initiatives including but not limited to paid search, retargeting campaigns, search engine optimization, retailing and social media.

Prior to receiving this newly created role in our downtown Chicago market, I was a sales manager for the Springhill Suites and Residence Inn Chicago Downtown River North after having represented our Hilton Garden Inn and Residence Inn Lake Forest Mettawa where I had received two outstanding performance awards.

As I have settled into my profession I am now seeking to use my revenue generating skills to become active on a board of directors for a non-profit organization. The reason I am looking to become a board member is to further network and build relationships, but also to gain the experience early on regarding organizational governance.

A few career goals I have are to become a CEO or President of a corporation or sports franchise, to one day start and operate my own business, and/or to go into some type of consulting.

An additional goal to becoming an entrepreneur is to one day become a published author.

In regards to my educational background; I am a proud graduate of Northern Illinois University's College of Business with a B.S. in Marketing with an emphasis in professional selling and interactive marketing. During my tenure at NIU I served on the board for two years for the American Marketing Association, first as the VP of Information Systems, then as Executive Vice President for my final year. Along with Executive VP responsibilities, I served as the President of the Collegiate Sales Advisory Board. Lastly, I was responsible for social media and marketing of the College of Business, and responsible for sales and game day promotions in NIU Athletics.
