I am a University Professor with a Ph.D. in Computer Science (Multimedia Intelligent Interfaces), by the University of York(U.K.). I also hold a Master's degree and a B.S. in ECE (Electrical and Computer Engineering / Telecommunications and Computer Systems), by FEUP (Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto).

I am the Course Coordinator for the Computer Systems Engineering (CSE) courses at University Fernando Pessoa (UFP) in Porto, including the 1st cycle (B.E.), the 2nd cycle (M.Sc.), and the Postgraduate degrees at the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FCT/UFP).

I am a writer, having authored various Technical Books on Multimedia, Data Compression, and Games Programming, published by FCA/Lidel (Lisbon) and Information Awareness, published by VDM Verlag (Berlin).
