Development Worker in Kampala, Uganda
I am a development manager, community organizer and social entrepreneur. I am also researcher and policy analyst with keen interests in forced displacement, rural and community development, political economy analysis and social innovations.
I have worked on several development initiatives that contributed to the post-conflict rehabilitation of Northern Uganda.
I am PfAL fellow at LSE where I am also a research collaborator at the Centre for Public Authority and International Development. I am a YALI Fellow, President Obama’s flagship initiatives for leadership development in Africa.
Currently, I work at Makerere University, one of Africa's leading University as a Senior Assistant Secretary. Before coming to Makerere, I was with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, a German political foundation as a Programme Manager for Uganda and South Sudan.
Similarly, I am a co-founder of Refugee Innovation and Sustainable Enterprise - Urban Project (RISE-UP) and Team Leader at its adjunct initiative, RiseUp Hub, a social enterprise with the mission to expand economic opportunities for urban refugees in Uganda.
My dearest attempt is building my remote, rural and poverty-stricken village in Northern Uganda to become a sustainable city with a resilient community. Okere City was founded in 2019 and it uses the Integrated Rural Development approach tried by the World Bank in the 1970s. Our current projects right now include but not limited to community schools, health center, cooperative society, community tourism, among others.
