Oliver McGee

As a speaker, professor, researcher, administrator, and advisor, Dr. Oliver McGee III brings a wide background of experience in providing the utmost in service for his clients and a quality education to his students. Dr. McGee served as Chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Geodetic Science at Ohio State University, the first African-American to hold that position and a professorship at the school. At Howard University, Dr. Oliver McGee functioned as Vice President for Research and Compliance, and has maintained his role as Professor of Mechanical Engineering since 2007. He has also acted as Special Assistant to the President at the Georgia Institute of Technology and Visiting Associate Professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Gas Turbine Laboratory, and held the Martin Luther King Jr. Visiting Associate Professorship at MIT.

Oliver McGee studied at Ohio State University, graduating with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering. He earned a Master's in Civil Engineering from the University of Arizona, where he later returned to earn a Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics with a minor in Aerospace Engineering. Dr. McGee continued his education by studying business administration and finance at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. In 2004, Dr. Oliver McGee III received an MBA in Business Administration and Finance from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

In addition to his academic work, Dr. Oliver McGee leads Partnership Possibilities for America, a consulting firm in Washington, D.C. The group has worked with high-profile clients in both the private and public sectors, including many in the Fortune 500. Through his company, Dr. McGee has given many speeches at outreach and engagement events, as well as seminars for such clients as NASA, MIT, and George Washington University.
