What Guides Me
I see greater potential for all of us, as individuals, organizations, and even nations. This belief is what guides my writing and my work.
I work as a marketing consultant under the company I founded, Delightability, LLC., where a core tenet is, “If you delight customers, success will follow.” I believe landfills could be less full of junk, there could be less broken experiences in our lives, and our bellies and minds more full of delight. I authored The Experience Design Blueprint to provide people with a step-by-step guide to designing better experiences and improving innovation culture. It is my recipe book for creating happier customers and healthier organizations. It has 78 images, 25 stories, and 56 recipes (mental models) that apply to nonprofit, for-profit, and government organizations.
My latest book L' impossi preneurs: A Hopeful Journey Through Tomorrow is a dreamer’s handbook for a better future — the one you wish to live in and leave behind. The book is both lighthearted and deadly serious. It covers the range of topics that pervade our lives including: love and relationships, wealth and economy, politics and crime, transportation, health and beauty, social, environment, computers and communications, etc.
My Background
My formal education includes a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration, both from Seattle University. Through Microsoft I was able to get Advanced Marketing Training from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. I've also completed Oikocredit Focus Academy on Social Performance Management in the Netherlands. While my formal education is about technology and business my ongoing education is about how humans think and interact with each other and with a changing world. I am a life-long learner and curious by nature. As an avid traveler, every trip is an opportunity to learn about people, culture, and history. I inform my world view and then share some of that in my speeches and writing.
My experiences span marketing, sales, product development, engineering, services, and operations in companies large and small. I have served as an adviser, entrepreneur, executive, consultant and individual contributor. For 6 years I served as a volunteer board member for Oikocredit US, a support association for international financial cooperative and social/impact investor Oikocredit International.
