Omar Haedo

Entrepreneur Omar Haedo heads IKON Benefits Group, Inc., as Managing Principal. An experienced insurance broker, Mr. Haedo founded the firm in 1998 to provide valuable services in employee benefits. Headquartered in San Juan, Puerto Rico, IKON Benefits Group has flourished under Omar Haedo's skilled leadership, becoming the Caribbean leader in integrated solutions in insurance, human resources, administration, and business consulting. Mr. Haedo's firm is dedicated to excellence in service and customer satisfaction, providing insurance for 10 percent of the private labor force in Puerto Rico with more than $300 million in premiums underwritten.

An influential leader in the Puerto Rican benefits market, Omar Haedo spent more than a decade working for CIGNA Healthcare prior to opening his own firm. For three years from 1987 to 1990, he served as a CIGNA Health Underwriter before transitioning to the positions of Client Manager and New Business Manager for Puerto Rico and the Caribbean from 1990 to 1998. During this time, he built a reputation for excellence that he carried with him to IKON Benefits Group. For his hard work, Mr. Haedo received recognition as the Puerto Rican Manufacturer's Association Executive of the Year in the Service Area in 2003. He has also served on the National Financial Partner's Benefits Advisory Board.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, with some proficiency in French, Omar Haedo began his education at Houghton College in New York. He then matriculated at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico–Metropolitan Campus. In 1987, he earned a Bachelor of Arts with emphasis on Finance, Computer Science, and Management. Additionally, he holds certification from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans as a Group Benefit Associate.
