Omar is a songwriter, poet, multi-instrumentalist (guitar, sitar, vocals, drums, bass, keyboard), visual artist and Berklee College of Music graduate. He is most known for fronting the Washington DC based Alt/Punk/Funk/Taqwacore band Diacritical. He produces the experimental electronic project Evilartform. He has composed film scores for movies that have been featured at Sundance, Festival de Nouve Cinema, Spin, Toronto Star, Time Magazine, Q-TV, and more.

As an artist, Omar's work has been covered in a wide variety of media outlets including the BBC, VOA, LA Times, Newsweek, Rollingstone, MTV Iggy and more. Omar currently fronts the mystical dance-punk band Sarmust.
